Friends and neighbors,

My name is Liz Lee, and I’m proud to be your new state representative for District 67A.

First, I want to thank you for giving me the privilege of serving as your representative. It is such and honor to be able to work for the community that raised me to be the person I am today. Being trusted to legislate with my community’s best interest is not something I take lightly, and I’m excited to get to make real strides in creating a better Minnesota for all of us now that the DFL has the trifecta.

During this 93rd Legislative session, I serve as the vice chair of the House Committee on Property Tax Division. My other committee assignments include: Children and Families Finance and Policy, Education Policy, and Taxes. I am also proud to share that my colleagues also elected her to serve as Assistant Majority Leader for the House DFL Caucus.

Support for Childcare Providers and Families

One of the most important tools we have in getting our economy back on track is ensuring that we address childcare shortages in Minnesota. With the rising cost of basic goods, we need to ensure parents have access to affordable and safe childcare. This is why our Children and Families Finance and Policy Committee has been working so hard to pass emergency funding bills to keep our providers afloat until we can enact more permanent solutions. To read more about this work and the bills we passed out of Committee this week, you can follow ups here.

Reproductive Rights

Last night, I was proud to make history and vote for passage of the Protect Reproduction Options (PRO) Act. This bill is so important because it protects the fundamental right of all Minnesotans to make their own reproductive health decisions. I voted YES because I wanted to preserve the right of all Minnesotans to access contraception and abortion care so they make their own decisions on when to start a family. Politics has no place in a doctor’s office, so I’m looking forward to swift passage in the Senate so that the Governor can sign this into law soon.
