Rep. Knudsen Invites Students to Apply for Educational Opportunities at the State Capitol St. Paul, MN — Applications for both the High School Page Program and the Undergraduate Internship Program are now open. Representative Krista Knudsen (R – Lake Shore) wishes to invite students from District 5A and across Minnesota to apply for these programs. These programs provide a unique perspective on the daily workings at the state capitol and an amazing learning opportunity to see firsthand state government at work. “Sharing the legislative process with young bright minds is always a joy.” Said Rep. Knudsen. “I had a great time getting to know some of the pages and interns last year and I’m looking forward to another year getting to answer questions and learning more about what our students want to see in their government.” The House of Representatives page program has been in place for 45 years and Minnesota is one of only a select few states in the nation to offer this program, providing young people with such an in-depth look into state government. Both program participants are selected through a formal process which includes an application, faculty recommendation, and an essay. More information is available by logging on to leg.mn.gov/leg/jobs and clicking the “High School Page Program” or “Undergraduate Internship Program” under Intern Opportunities, or by calling (651) 296-7452. Deadlines to apply are November 22nd and November 9th respectively. Local schools also can provide further assistance. |
