Disappointing End to 93rd Legislature, and First Biennium in the House

Saint Paul, MN — Today concluded the 93rd Minnesota Legislature after a long few days of debate on the Minnesota House floor going through dozens of bills. The session concluded last night after democrats with total control of state government cut off debate on the tax bill which had been amended into one massive omnibus bill to carry their agenda through in the final hours of this biennium.

“I am disappointed to end my first legislative session on such a partisan note,” Said Representative Knudsen. “We had an opportunity to work together to provide Minnesotans bipartisan solutions to some of the problems our state is facing. Instead, the Democrats with total control of state government chose to prioritize their extreme agenda.”

“Unfortunately, Democrats would rather abuse the legislative process and silence the voices of nearly half the state to push their partisan agenda that includes massive tax increases and expensive new regulations. This outrageous behavior shows why Minnesota desperately needs balance in the legislature. Democrats have passed bill after bill of irresponsible and unaffordable legislation that has harmed family budgets, burdened our school districts, and kept nearly half of Minnesota shut out of the process.”

“For a long time, I have been praying for God to expose the agenda of the trifecta. Last night, those prayers were answered. He shined His light on the death of Democracy in Minnesota as the voice of half of our great state was shut down by those abusing their power.”

“Another prayer that was answered last night was the failure of the ERA. This unequal rights amendment would have put women's spaces in danger and would have enshrined the most extreme abortion laws in the country into our state constitution. The bill failed to receive final action by the Senate before the 11:59 pm deadline. Give all the Glory to God.”

“It is time for a change, and it is time for balance and fairness in our legislature. ”
