Statement from Representative Ben Davis
ST. PAUL, MN - Representative Ben Davis, R-Mission TWP, issued the following statement:
“No one, regardless of political beliefs, should ever be the target of violence. This evil act is not just a tragedy for the individuals and families affected, but a direct assault on the principles of public service and civil discourse.
Speaker Hortman was always a strong advocate for her beliefs and a dedicated public servant. She was always very kind to me. I will never forget her commitment to Minnesota and the folks she served.
Violence has no place in our state or our politics. I trust our law enforcement officers will bring justice swiftly and thoroughly. In the meantime, I ask all Minnesotans to join me in praying for the families affected and for peace in our state during this difficult time.”
