Dear Neighbors,
Last year, I proudly voted to secure significant investments in Minnesota's Nursing Homes, recognizing the vital role they play in caring for our cherished elders. This included $173 million in immediate funding for facilities, with an additional $225,000 arriving later this year and further disbursements based on bed count.
But investing in buildings alone isn't enough. Establishing the Nursing Home Workforce Standards Board was essential to focus on improving the lives of both residents and the dedicated caregivers who make their well-being possible. By setting minimum standards for wages, benefits, and working conditions, we can ensure our nursing homes attract and retain qualified staff, ultimately leading to better care for our seniors.
The Nursing Home Workforce Standards Board wants to hear your experiences and insights to create better working conditions for staff and ultimately, provide higher quality care for residents.
