St. Paul, MN – Today, Rep. Isaac Schultz, R-Elmdale Township, celebrated the Trump Administration’s decisive action to pause approximately $39 billion in federal funds to Minnesota programs advancing Marxist equity, transgenderism, and Green New Deal social engineering policies. This bold step, part of a broader effort to realign federal spending with priorities that serve hardworking Americans, reflects the President's commitment to protecting taxpayer dollars and supporting American families. “With the stroke of a pen, President Trump has done more to make the lives of Minnesotans more affordable than the entirety of the six full years of the Tim Walz Administration,” Schultz said. “Immediately halting billions in wasteful spending is the first step to get Minnesota back on track.” The President’s memorandum requires federal agencies to identify and review financial assistance programs to ensure alignment with Administration priorities, including promoting a stronger and safer America, unleashing American energy and manufacturing, and eliminating the financial burdens of inflation. In the interim, the Trump Administration has temporarily paused disbursements for programs that do not align with these priorities. “This is a win for Minnesota taxpayers,” Schultz continued. “By stopping wasteful spending on divisive and ideologically driven programs, we can focus on initiatives that truly improve the lives of Minnesotans and build a stronger future for our state.” |
