Dear Neighbors, This week, House and Senate Republicans held a listening session on School Resource Officers after the majorities in each body refused to hold an informational hearing to develop a bipartisan fix for the new law. School staff, law enforcement, and those impacted by violence in schools each spoke about their perspectives on how the law needs to change. While some schools have brought SROs back, many more districts have continued to run without them until there is more clarity on the law. The sooner we fix this law and get 100% of SROs back into schools, the better. If you'd like to watch the House and Senate Republican SRO listening session, it can be viewed in full here. District VisitsThis week I met with Rayus Radiology Radiologist Dr. Derik Weldon and Operations Lead Chad Rush (photo at right). I had the opportunity to tour their facility today to discuss their concerns with several bills that were introduced last session regarding health care. Thank you both for your time! In addition to the tour, I was able to attend both the Central Minnesota Habitat for Humanity fundraising breakfast... The Greater St. Cloud Public Safety Foundation Awards Banquet... And, finally, I got to meet with the CEO of Big Brothers, Big Sisters this week! I learned so much about this great program. |
Thank you to everyone who works and volunteers with these three incredible organizations locally! |
