Legislative update

Perryman

Please join me in saying a huge thank you to our law enforcement officers as we celebrate National Police Week. People in our area have a great deal of respect for the jobs our police officers do and we should make a point of thanking them every day.

Dear Neighbor,

The House is set to wrap up business by midnight Sunday and much remains unresolved with just three days to work before legislators pack up and head home.

I’ll be back soon with a look at how things shake out. For now, I’d like to share a bit of good news: After an abnormally long delay, the governor has signed into law legislation I mentioned last week that restores religious freedom that was stripped from faith-based organizations last year.

This is great news and I once again thank all the faith leaders who stepped up to help us get this done! Click here for more background on this subject in a recent news release I issued.

Until next time, have a good weekend, please stay in touch and thanks for your continued support as we approach the session’s finish line.
