Legislative Update

Greetings from St. Paul!

It has been another busy week at the Capitol, and I want to extend my heartfelt thanks to all of you who took the time to meet with me. I appreciate you sharing your concerns and letting me know how I can better represent our shared interests. I'd like to talk a little more about these meetings and let you know about my recent appointment to the Midwestern Legislative Council!

Midwestern Legislative Council - Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee

I am honored to share that I have been appointed to the Midwestern Legislative Council’s Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. This is an exciting opportunity to work alongside fellow legislators to advocate for policies that support our rural communities and strengthen agriculture across the Midwest.

As someone who deeply values the role agriculture plays in our economy and way of life, I’m eager to bring your concerns and ideas to the table as we address the common challenges facing our rural areas. I look forward to collaborating with my colleagues to create solutions that benefit our farmers, families, and communities.

Thanks for Visiting me at the Capitol!

Minnesota School Boards Association Day

On Monday this week, we hosted the Minnesota School Board Association Day at the Capitol, where I had the opportunity to speak with education professionals from our district and across Minnesota.

One of the biggest concerns I heard was the burden of unfunded mandates and the lack of local control afforded to our educators. It's clear that these challenges are impacting the ability of our schools to serve students effectively.

My colleagues and I are working on a package of legislation aimed at addressing these issues, and I look forward to keeping you updated as these bills progress through the legislative process. Together, we can work to ensure our educators have the tools and flexibility they need to improve our schools and provide quality education to our students.

Thank you all for coming out!

Lester Prairie Elementary School

On Thursday this week, students and faculty from Lester Prairie Elementary School came to St. Paul for a tour of the Capitol. It was such a pleasure visiting with them and fielding questions from curious students!

We discussed my job as State Representative, how laws are made, and what it's like to run for office. After visiting with them, I'm confident the future is bright in Minnesota!
