ST. PAUL – Thanks to State Representative Steve Jacob’s (R-Altura) efforts at the State Capitol, area nursing homes began receiving new and critical funding this month.
“Nursing homes are critical components of our communities,” Jacob said. “One of my top priorities last session was to ensure that our nursing homes obtained additional resources to help them care for the elderly and our most vulnerable residents, and I’m pleased that revenue has begun to make its way to our local facilities.”
Last session, a $300 million nursing home package was unanimously approved by the Minnesota House. Over half of the funds, $173 million, went to direct payments to nursing homes.
Jacob noted how local care centers will benefit under this new law:
