Neighbors, On August 1, a new slate of laws will be enacted. New laws range from making it more difficult to sell stolen catalytic converters, to criminalizing creation of sex-related deep fake activity, to requiring firearms background checks. Also, several items related to the legalization of adult use cannabis take effect on August 1. Benedictine AwardI was honored to recently receive an award from Benedictine Living Community-Rochester. I am proud of the work we have done at the Capitol to support our seniors and those who care for them. We must ensure our most important jobs are our most valued. In the CommunityIt has been a very busy month in the community. Among other things, we toured the Boys and Girls club, I participated in a homeless panel and community discussion with so many great organizations, celebrated legislative wins for the City of Rochester and took part in a discussion with Hospitality Minnesota.
