Hudson returns to Capitol ready to work in 2025 session

Tuesday, January 14, 2025

ST. PAUL – State Rep. Walter Hudson, R-Albertville, returned to the Capitol on Tuesday to perform the oath of office in the Minnesota House of Representatives as a member of the 94th Legislature.

Hudson was re-elected to the House for a second term in November. He serves District 30A in northeastern Wright County – with its border skirting Rockford to the south and encompassing Hanover, St. Michael, Albertville and Otsego.

Hudson has accepted a position to serve a newly formed committee that will work to address fraud in state programs amid numerous reports detailing widespread abuse of tax dollars. He also will serve on judiciary/civil law, education and public safety committees this biennium.

“I’m pleased to be back at work in St. Paul, ready to start the 2025 session strong and doing the work people in District 30A elected me to do as a member of the House,” Hudson said. “The oath of office is a humbling experience, not only because of the great responsibility to constituents it brings, but also due to the great respect I have for the House of Representatives as an institution. I’m looking forward to having a strong start to the session, working to get our state back on track by focusing on what’s important to everyday Minnesotans.”

Hudson said House Republicans recently shared a list of priorities of Minnesotans for the 2025 legislative session. They include:

  • Stop the Fraud
  • Make Minnesota Affordable
  • Make Minnesota Safe
  • Raise Standards, Reduce Mandates
  • Minnesota Tax Dollars for Minnesotans
  • Build for the Future

Hudson said he welcomes correspondence throughout the session and encourages District 30A residents to call (651) 296-1534 or email rep.walter.hudson@house.mn.gov to get in touch. He also provides periodic email updates and citizens can sign up to receive them at his official state website: www.house.mn/30a.
