Dear Neighbors,
I hope you had a wonderful year and are excited for the holiday season. As we head into 2024 I wanted to reach out with a quick update.
1. Legislative Recap - Greatest Hits of 2023
- As we reach the end of 2023 I wanted to highlight some of the big wins for our community this year.
- In total I secured $102.75 million across three bills for the construction and improvement of Highway 65. This was the top priority for me and our community and I’m happy to say that we delivered on historic funding this year!
- I helped pass a budget which included $300 million in public safety aid that I authored. This will directly benefit law enforcement and ensure that crime remains on a downward trend.
- I worked to pass a “supercharged” targeted property tax refund for homeowners who see a big property tax spike and updated the limits for the Homestead Market Value Exclusion.
- I worked to increase investments for education across the state and tie those investments to inflation. By using our surplus to provide a much-needed funding boost and tying future increases to inflation, we are guaranteeing that our students will receive the resources they need, no matter what.
2. Educator Nominations - Showing Appreciation to our Amazing Educators!
- Our district is home to some of the best teachers and educators in Minnesota and it's important we celebrate them for all they do. Let us know of an educator who deserves some recognition and we'll give them a public shout out!
- Use this form to nominate any educator (teacher, counselor, support staff, etc.) who either works or lives in the Blaine and Lexington area and we'll select someone to celebrate each month.

- Other than these updates, the single best way to stay informed with my activities as your Representative is to follow me on Facebook.
- You’ll be the first to know of any legislative developments or activities, like my recent visit to the 148th Fighter Wing in Duluth with the House Veterans & Military Affairs Committee. We’re lucky to have them serving our state and nation!
