Dear Neighbors,
It’s been a great week at the Capitol as I settle into my committee schedule. I’ve done a lot of legwork to get my legislation introduced and teed up to be heard in the coming weeks. I’ll be sure to keep you informed when my bills to benefit our community start making their way through the process!
Chatting With Scouts - Educating the Future Leaders of Minnesota
- It was a lot of fun chatting with some of our local scouts about government and public service!
- We talked about the concept of “service” and how running for elected office is an important way we can serve our communities. We also talked about the three branches of government and mapped the process of how to get a bill passed into law.
- The scouts also had lots of great questions, including why Minnesota is “a top 10 state”!
Indivisible North Metro - Community Involvement
- I had a chance to stop by the Indivisible North Metro meeting to share updates about what’s happening at the state and federal level.
- There were so many people, we filled two separate rooms and I had to give my speech twice!
- Seeing this level of dedication and interest in getting involved in our political process is inspiring. Thanks to everyone who showed up, let’s keep working together to make a better future!
Meeting University of Minnesota-Duluth Students - Improving Higher Education
- This week I met with students from University of Minnesota-Duluth!
- We talked about investments in campus facilities, student mental health, and making Minnesota an attractive state for college students through programs like the North Star Promise to help cover tuition expenses.
- Higher education remains one of the best investments our youth can make in their lives. Through public funding for higher education, we are making sure more of our youth are on the path towards a strong career!
