St. Paul, MN—State Representative Andrew Myers, R-Tonka Bay, recently introduced legislation to provide funding to the city of Mound for a variety of upgrades to the city’s water infrastructure. Infrastructure projects in House File 1185 include a new water well, the decommission and sealing of two wells, installation of a new water main, and introduction of a water treatment facility to filter out manganese and improve water quality.
“This is an issue that has been years in the making with city officials, past and present, dedicating themselves to this project,” said Myers. “Access to safe, clean, and reliable water is a top priority for communities in our area and something that I have been working to address during my first month in the legislature. Moving forward, I will collaborate with legislators on both sides of the aisle and local leaders to make sure that we can get this bill across the finish line. Together we can improve water quality and strengthen Your Backyard for generations to come.”
House File 1185 has been referred to the Capital Investment Committee where it awaits its first hearing.
