Dear Neighbors,
I am excited to share that infrastructure projects in Excelsior, Long Lake, Minnestrista, and Orono are scheduled to be visited by the House Capital Investment Committee next month during an upcoming tour. Committee members will visit Excelsior on November 14th where they will get a firsthand look at projects in Excelsior before hearing presentations on proposed infrastructure improvements for the communities of Long Lake, Minnetrista, and Orono.
The House Capital Investment Committee reviews requests for vital infrastructure funding projects each year for possible inclusion in a bonding bill.
I want to thank Chair Fue Lee, Lead Dean Urdahl, Committee Administrator Jenny Nash, and staff for working with me to make sure our communities will be included in next month’s tour. Residents in our communities depend on vital infrastructure that provides safe drinking water, transportation, utilities, and public safety needs.
This year, I am proud that we were able to secure $10.3 million for “clean water” infrastructure for the residents of Mound. I continue to work with Governor Walz and his office to make Mound part of the governor’s infrastructure proposal so that the project can be fully funded and completed.
As a newly elected legislator, I have worked hard to put the needs and the priorities of our communities first, build relationships across the aisle, and work towards balanced policies for families in our district and all of Minnesota. Improving local infrastructure was a top priority for many in our area, so I have made that a big focus of my work this year.
The Committee’s visit will include presentations on Minnetrista’s water infrastructure needs, road reconstruction in Long Lake, a storage and handling facility in Orono in addition to a tour of the proposed water main, storm sewer, and road infrastructure improvements in Excelsior.
It is always my goal to be as responsive as possible to the needs and priorities of you and Your Backyard, so please do not hesitate to contact me. I can be reached by phone at 651-296-9188 or via email at rep.andrew.myers@house.mn.gov.
Have a great day,
Andrew
