Rep. Larry Kraft earns 2024 Associated General Contractors Legislator of the Year Award
ST. PAUL – Rep.Larry Kraft (DFL-St. Louis Park) has received the Associated General Contractors Legislator of the Year Award for 2024. Each year, the AGC identifies and awards legislators for work that has positively impacted the construction industry. Representative Kraft led negotiations throughout the 2024 session for legislation increasing worker safety and underground utility damage prevention.
Rep. Kraft issued the following statement:
“I am truly honored to receive this award. When I first became a legislator, I was not expecting to be involved in excavation. However, as I learned more about the safety challenges in this area and the impacts of cutting or puncturing an underground utility service, it was something I could not ignore. This was the first time this area of statute had been touched in over twenty years. I’m proud of the changes we made to embrace new technology, improve communication processes, and increase worker safety. ”
