St. Paul, Minn. - State Rep. Lucy Rehm (DFL-Chanhassen) is encouraging high school juniors attending schools in the Chanhassen or Chaska school districts to apply to the High School Page Program at the State Capitol.
“Participating in the High School Page program is a great way to learn about the democratic process and public policy firsthand,” said Rep. Rehm. “It’s also a rewarding experience that will help participants develop civic engagement and become more informed citizens. I encourage high school juniors from our region to share their talents and interests by applying.”
Over the last 45 years, the High School Page Program has provided students with an opportunity to learn and serve in the Minnesota House of Representatives. Throughout their week in Saint Paul, High School Page Program participants are engaged in activities designed to help them understand the legislative process, state government, public policy, public service, and much more. The Minnesota House of Representatives High School Page Program is open to all Minnesota high school students in their junior year. Program participants are selected in the fall of each year based on a formal process that includes an application, faculty recommendation, and an essay.
The deadline to apply is November 22, 2023. The application can be accessed at https://tinyurl.com/HighSchoolPageProgram.
