Release: Rep. Lucy Rehm appointed to serve as vice chair of the House Transportation Finance & Policy Committee

Thursday, December 12, 2024

SAINT PAUL, Minn. - Representative Lucy Rehm (DFL-Chanhassen) has been appointed as the DFL vice-chair of the House Transportation Finance & Policy Committee.

“A split House provides us with an opportunity to continue progress for the state, and on my part, to deliver the results our communities of Chanhassen and Chaska deserve,” said Rep. Rehm. “With safety and efficiency at top of mind, I look forward to working alongside Democrats and Republicans to balance a fair budget that prioritizes working people and families across the state.”

Representative Rehm will begin her second term in 2025 serving the communities of Chanhassen and Eastern Chaska in the Minnesota House of Representatives. During the 2023-2024 biennium, she helped reverse the decades-long trend of underinvestment in roads, bridges, and public transit. Rep. Rehm delivered $20 million to expand Highway 5 and championed a statewide Traffic Safety Advisory Council to counter Minnesota’s growing problem with dangerous driving and traffic fatalities. She carried the legislation to name a stretch of Highway 5 the “Prince Rogers Nelson Memorial Highway.” Additionally, Rep. Rehm was the lead author of a new, nation-leading e-bike rebate program.

The 2025 Legislative Session begins on Tuesday, January 14.
