District 3B Youth in Government
Saint Paul, MN -
This years YMCA Youth in Government conference was held January 9-12 at the state capitol in St. Paul. The Duluth Delegation from Representative Zeleznikar’s district (3B) had 92 students in attendance who took on the role of legislators, lawyers, judges, lobbyists, journalists, and cabinet members to run a state model government.
The 92 students represented the following schools from Rep Zeleznikar’s district.
- Hermantown Middle School
- Hermantown High School
- Harbor City International School
- Duluth Marshall
- Duluth Denfeld High School
- Duluth East High School
- Ordean East Middle School
Zeleznikar met with students, including Katie Taffe (Pictured Below), 2023 Hermantown public school graduate, who now attends Georgetown. She attended the YMCA youth in government while in high school and was here helping lead for current students.
This event highlights the dedication and leadership of young citizens showcasing a bright future for Minnesota.
