Dear constituents and friends of 7B,

Thank you again for the opportunity that you have given me to represent you here in St. Paul! I understand the gravity of this responsibility and my obligation to be your voice, which I do not take lightly.

I wanted to briefly update you on what has happened this week at the Capitol. Prior to Tuesday, my Democrat colleagues had a secret swearing in ceremony off-site at the Minnesota History Center, then leaked a photo of their activities to the media. To be clear, no Republican representatives were invited. While all this is disappointing to learn, it was even worse to see them skip the Opening Day ceremonies they were scheduled to attend with us on Tuesday.

While the rest of us took our oath on Tuesday, the Democrats were allegedly meeting with constituents and conducting other business in their districts. Meeting with constituents is an extremely important part of the job as a representative, but now is the appointed time for us to be in St. Paul, working together in the House chamber, which they are refusing. These actions are unacceptable and disrespectful to Minnesotans like you and I; even so, they have not stopped the rest of us from conducting our business and working on making positive changes for MN.

On a positive note, this week I was pleased to meet with Iron Range Resources Commissioner, Ida Rukavina, and Director Ryan Malich to talk about agency plans as I am now a board member. There is much to learn about and I’m excited to partner will all the members of the Iron Range Delegation to do great things for our region.

Laurentian Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, Teresa Apelwick, also took time to meet with me and we had a

great opportunity to talk about housing issues facing the Range, especially as it pertains to the quad cities.

I am grateful for the opportunity to meet with many people through my role as a State Representative, but especially to spend time with folks from my district – so thanks again to each of you for taking the time to schedule those meetings with me in St Paul.

Please continue to reach out if I can be of any assistance to you. You can call my office phone in St. Paul at 651.296.0170, though the best way to reach me is email since I am frequently in a meeting; that address is listed below.

Have a great weekend!
