MINUTES
Representative Nora Slawik, Chair of the Early Childhood Learning Finance Division, called the meeting to order at 4:05 pm on Thursday, February 14 2008, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Chair Slawik started with introduction of new committee staff.
Chair Slawik gave an overview of the hearings the committee conducted in the interim.
Representative Fritz moved that the minutes from Monday, March 26, 2007; Tuesday, October 9, 2007; Tuesday, November 13, 2007; and Tuesday, December 11, 2007 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
Vice-Chair Bly assumed the gavel at 4:12 pm.
Vice-Chair Bly moved that HF 2561 (Slawik), Early childhood learning and child protection facilities grants modified, bonds issued, and money appropriated, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Education Finance and Economic Competitiveness Division with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Finance.

Representative Slawik moved to incorporate an oral amendment to proposed amendment

Chair Slawik moved that HF 2765 (Poppe), Austin; Austin Area Success Center funding provided, bonds issued and money appropriated, be recommended to pass and be re-referred to the Education Finance and Economic Competitiveness Division with a recommended re-referral to the Committee on Finance.
