Representative Jean Wagenius, Chair of the Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:05 A.M. on March 20, 2007, in Room 5 of the State Office Building.

Informational Hearing: HF1663 Moe, modifying provisions for regulating genetically engineered organisms; requiring a wild rice study
Representative Moe testified on the topic of HF1663, first engrossment.

Representative Hansen moved that the minutes of March 15th be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES ARE APPROVED.
Informational Hearing: HF2216 Scalze, modifying watercraft surcharge; modifying water recreation account; providing for a nonresident fishing surcharge

Representative Tingelstad moved an oral amendment as follows: Line 1.13, replace the comma with a period and delete "except if the landowner grants permission for such access." THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
HF593 was laid over for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.
HF849 Moe, providing for regulation of shoreland resorts
Representative Moe moved HF849 for possible inclusion in the omnibus bill.

Chair Wagenius moved that HF849 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Finance Committee, with a recommendation that it be sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND HF849 WAS RE-REFERRED TO THE COMMITTEE ON FINANCE.
