MINUTES
Representative Scott Kranz, Chair, called the meeting to order at 10:17AM on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Room 5 of the State Office Building.
The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

A quorum was present.
Representative Moe presented HF1131, capacity building grants funding provided, and money appropriated.
Testified on HF1131:

Liz Kuoppala, Associate Director, MN Coalition for the Homeless
Representative Moe moved that HF 1131 be laid over for possible inclusion to an omnibus bill Hearing no objection, the bill was laid over.
Representative Laine moved that HF2324 be recommended to pass and be referred to the Committee on Local Government and Metropolitan Affairs.
Representative Winkler presented HF2324, housing with services establishment conditions modified.
Representative Winkler moved to amend HF2324. (See attached amendment
H2324DE1). THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
Representative McFarlane moved that HF2324 as amended be tabled.
Representative Eastlund requested a division vote. The results were 6 Ayes and 4 Nyes. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE BILL WAS TABLED.
Mitchell Davis, Director, Office of Minority and Multicultural Health, MN Department of Health, presented an update on the Eliminating Health Disparities Initiative.
Dr. Stanton Shanedling, Supervisor, Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention Unit, MN Department of Health, presented an update on heart disease and stroke prevention initiatives.
Dr. Jean Johnson, Biomonitoring Program Director, MN Department of Health, presented an update on biomonitoring projects.
Representative Swails moved that the minutes of February 27, 2008 be adopted. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE MINUTES WERE APPROVED.
The meeting was adjourned at 11:33 AM.
