MINUTES

Representative Baker, Co-Chair of the Workforce, Labor and Economic Development Finance and Policy Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:16 AM on Tuesday, March 25th, 2025, in the G3 Room of the Capitol.

A Quorum was present.

Representative Mekeland moved the minutes for Thursday March 20th, 2025, to be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

H.F. 1007 (Norris) World Junior Hockey Championship funding provided.

Co-Chair Baker moved that H.F. 1007 be brought before the committee.

Representatives Norris and Witte presented H.F. 1007

Testifiers:

H.F.1007 was laid over for future consideration.

H.F. 1152 (Johnson, P) – Explore Minnesota duties and mission modified.

Co-Chair Baker moved that H.F. 1152 be brought before the committee.

H.F. 2258 (Johnson, W) – 2026 Special Olympics USA Games Funding provided.

Co-Chair Baker moved that H.F 2258 be brought before the committee.

Representative Johnson presented H.F. 2258.

H.F. 2258 was laid over for future consideration.

H.F. 1671 (Pinto) – Department of Labor policy and technical changes.

Co-Chair Pinto moved that H.F. 1671 be brought before the committee.


Co-Chair Pinto moved to adopt the H1671A1 amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

Co-Chair Pinto presented H.F. 1671, as amended.

Testifiers:
Josiah Moore, Legislative Director, Minnesota Department of Labor.

Co-Chair Baker moved that H.F. 1671, as amended, be re-referred to the Judiciary Finance and Civil Law Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.
