MINUTES

Representative Davids, Chair of the Taxes Committee, called the meeting to order at 10:15 AM on February 12, 2025, in Room 120 of the State Capitol Building. A quorum was present.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Joy moved the minutes from February 11, 2025 be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF179 (Wiener) Browerville Public Schools; refundable sales and tax exemption for construction materials provided.
Representative Wiener moved to adopt the A1 Amendment. THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Davids laid over HF179 as amended for possible inclusion in the Tax Omnibus Bill.


HFXXX (Harder) Watertown sales tax exemption for construction materials authorization.

Representative Davids laid over HF174 for possible inclusion in the Tax Omnibus Bill.


HF100 (Repinski) Individual income tax provisions modified, and unlimited Social Security
subtraction allowed.

Representative Repinski moved to adopt the following oral amendment:

1.1 .................... moves to amend H.F. No. 100 as follows:
1.2 Page 2, line 21, before "The" insert "(a)"
1.3 Page 2, after line 21, insert:
1.4 "(b) For the purposes of this section, "Social Security benefits" has the meaning given 1.5 in section 86(d)(1) of the Internal Revenue Code."
THE MOTION PREVAILED AND THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.
