MINUTES

Representative Lanning, Chairman of the State Government Finance Committee, called the meeting to order at 8:21 a.m. on March 8, 2012, in Room 200 of the State Office Building.

The Committee Legislative Assistant noted the roll.

Representative Murray moved that the minutes from the committee meeting on March 6, 2012, be approved. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2261 (Dettmer) Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery burial eligibility expanded to included deceased allied Hmong-American or Lao-American veterans of the American Secret War in Laos.

Chairman Lanning moved that HF2261 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

The committee heard testimony on HF2261.

Chairman Lanning renewed his motion that HF2261 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

NAY: None

ABSENT: DOWNEY, GAUTHIER, GREENE

On a vote of 18 to 0 for HF2261, THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF2259 (Dettmer) Lawful gambling net profits for military marching, color guard, or honor guard units allowable per diem reimbursement increased.

Chairman Lanning moved that HF2259 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register.

Chairman Lanning renewed his motion that HF2259 be recommended to pass and sent to the General Register. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

HF1031 (Stensrud) Legislative Coordinating Commission joint administrative services required to provide or arrange for the service to both the House of Representatives and Senate.

Representative Stensrud moved that HF1031 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Ways and Means Committee.

The committee heard testimony on HF1031.

Representative Stensrud moved to change his original motion and moved that HF1031 be recommended to pass and re-referred to the Government Operations and Elections Committee.

Representative Stensrud moved the H1031A2. THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Winkler moved to orally amend the H1031A2 amendment: line 1.19 insert new sentence "The legislative coordinating commission must adopt a policy under this section by July 1, 2012." THE ORAL AMENDMENT TO THE AMENDMENT WAS ADOPTED.

Representative Stensrud renewed his motion that HF1031 be recommended to pass, as amended, and re-referred to the Government Operations and Elections Committee. THE MOTION PREVAILED.

The committee adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
