Dear neighbors,

I've received hundreds of emails with concerns about the federal actions we see being taken in Washington, D.C. on a near daily basis.

Whether it’s undermining public education, imposing tariffs that drive up the cost of living and doing business, firing thousands of federal workers with no warning, or cutting Medicaid, the federal administration's policies are making life more difficult for everyone. Every day, more and more people are speaking out and and fighting back to protect our families, schools, communities, and fundamental rights.

That’s why I’m pleased to announce a special regional South Metro Town Hall meeting in Lakeville at 6:00 p.m. to learn more about how these cuts impact our neighbors, and what we're doing to protect them. To receive the event location, please register here.

Town Hall

I’ll be joined by U.S. Rep. Angie Craig, State Reps. Bierman (Apple Valley), Berg (Burnsville), Virnig (Eagan), and Sens. Maye Quade (Apple Valley) and Port (Burnsville). This event will feature a presentation about how the federal government’s actions are hurting the people of Minnesota, and most importantly, it’s an opportunity for people in our area to voice their fears, frustrations, and ideas. I’m eager to listen to what you have to say and work together to stand up for our shared values.

Please reach out to me with any questions about the event. I hope to see you and our community turn out for this important town hall meeting on Monday, April 14th.

Capitol Visitors

I love meeting with constituents in our beautiful district, but there's something truly special about connecting with our neighbors at the State Capitol!

Whether we're discussing issues during committee hearings, catching up in the rotunda, or when you're visiting to advocate for causes you care about - these Capitol conversations energize me and remind me why I serve.

Constituent meetings

Proud to stand with these incredible student advocates who are taking action against youth vaping in our communities!

Local Town Hall on May 3

If you can't make it to this event, I'm hosting a local District 56 Town Hall meeting with Senator Maye Quade and Rep. Bierman on Saturday, May 3 at 10:00 a.m. Please stay tuned for more details!

Keep in Touch

Please continue to keep in touch on the issues that matter most to you. I'm always happy to see how I can help at the state level. You can email me at rep.john.huot@house.mn.gov or call 651-296-4306.

Next week, House offices will be closed to the public for our Passover/Easter recess. Once legislators return from break, we will begin hearing budget bills on the House Floor for full votes, and then we will enter negotiations with the Senate and the Governor on our final budget bills.

Take care and enjoy the holiday,

John
