ST. PAUL –Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Acton Township, issued the following statement regarding the release of the state's new economic forecast on Thursday, which calls for a $1.87 billion surplus for the 2016-17 biennium.
"This shows the policies and practices House Republicans advanced in setting this biennium's budget are producing results," Urdahl said. "State law dictates one-third of the surplus is placed into reserves, but that still leaves around $1.2 billion that can be used for priorities such as providing tax relief and improving our infrastructure."
