Statement from Rep. Dean Urdahl re: tariffs
ST. PAUL – Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Acton Township, issued the following statement Wednesday regarding potential foreign tariffs on major Minnesota agriculture exports such as pork and soybeans.
“The everyday uncertainties of agriculture present farmers with enough challenges that we don’t need foreign tariffs making matters even more complicated,” Urdahl said. “Pork and soybeans are two major components in our state’s ag. industry and disruptions to those markets would be problematic for not only farm families, but also for our state’s economy overall. We are counting on the President to negotiate policies that not only protect our ag. interests, but strengthen our position in the global market.”
