ST. PAUL – Minnesota’s 2022 legislative session began Monday and Rep. Dean Urdahl, R-Acton Township, said it’s good to be back at the Capitol working on behalf of District 18A residents after months of discussing issues with area residents.
“The first day of a legislative session is, in some ways, like the opening day of baseball season,” Urdahl said. “We have a fresh start, a sense of optimism and everyone is eager to get to work and see what unfolds over the next several months. There might even be a little extra anticipation in the air this year in respect to our state’s $7.7 billion surplus. By all rights, these dollars should be returned to taxpayers as much as possible and that’s what I will be advocating this session. Our state government has an overabundance of revenue and this is an unprecedented opportunity to provide long-term tax relief at a time people and businesses could use it most amid soaring inflation.”
Urdahl said he welcomes correspondence throughout the session and encourages District 18A residents to call (651) 296-4344 or email rep.dean.urdahl@house.mn to get in touch.
