Today, House Republicans chose to send the MNLARS fix to conference committee, instead of passing the compromise bill that passed the Minnesota Senate earlier today.
House DFL Leader Melissa Hortman released the following statement:
“MNLARS has been an issue for seven months now, including a month of the legislative session. We’ve already lost a number of consultants who were working to improve MNLARS, including a chief programmer.
“Minnesotans deserve a system that works, and they expect it to be fixed when it doesn’t.
“A MNLARS solution could have been passed weeks ago, instead of using the issue as a way to score political points. And now, Republicans have sent the MNLARS fix to a conference committee, which will take even more time instead of just fixing it.
“DFLers want to actually fix MNLARS, not just talk about it. I hope that going forward we can work together on this issue. Minnesotans are counting on us to fix this."
