State Rep. Joe McDonald, R-Delano, recently receives a FATHER Project Legislative Champion Award for his efforts to assist fathers.
ST. PAUL – State Rep. Joe McDonald, R-Delano, has received an award for his work to assist fathers in overcoming barriers that sometimes prevent them from supporting their children economically and emotionally.
The FATHER Project Legislative Champion Award issued the award to McDonald, who successfully authored legislation (H.F. 1327) in 2017 to fund employment and economic development grants to support the organization in several Minnesota cities. Specifically, the FATHER Project indicates McDonald was awarded “in recognition for your work in the Minnesota Legislature on behalf of fathers and their children. Thank you for your continued efforts to enrich the lives of fathers and their families.”
“I am humbled to receive this recognition from the FATHER Project,” McDonald said. “Strong families are profoundly important to our society in so many ways and I am proud to support this organization in all its efforts in that regard. As a father and husband who cherishes family life, it is heartening to see the successes of this organization.”
