SAINT PAUL, MN—Representative Duane Quam, R-Byron, was officially sworn-in Tuesday as the legislature began the 2017 session in St. Paul. Legislators took the oath of office administered by Chief Justice of the Minnesota Supreme Court Lorie Gildea in the House Chamber. Duane will continue representing District 25A which includes portions of Steele and Dodge counties.
"It is humbling to return to the legislature and continue serving the residents of Dodge and Olmstead Counties,” Quam said. "I'm looking forward to working with my colleagues to address healthcare for Minnesotans, roads and bridges, and to address the concerns of all Minnesotans.”
Duane, who was first elected in 2010, will serve on the following committees: the Health & Human Services Reform Committee, the Government Operations & Elections Committee, State Government Finance Committee, and the Subcommittee on Child Care Access & Affordability.
Duane lives in Byron with his wife, Pat. They have two children.
