BYRON, MN—Rep. Duane Quam, R-Byron, issued the following statement congratulating area 2017 Farm Families of the Year. The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2017 Farm Family Recognition Program took place today at Farmfest.
2017 award winners from the two counties in District 25A:
Dodge County: Terrance and Janice Lorch Family
Olmsted County: Jim and Connie Stannard
"Hard working farmers feed us and the world, and I am extremely proud of the two family farms recognized as Family Farms of the Year today at Farmfest," said Rep. Quam. "Farming plays an integral part in our economy in Minnesota and I'd like to wish a heartfelt congratulations to both the Terrance & Janice Lorch Family and Jim & Connie Stannard for their awards today."
