BYRON, MN—Rep. Duane Quam, R-Byron, issued the following statement congratulating area 2018 Farm Families of the Year. The Farm Family Recognition Program is coordinated by the University of Minnesota Extension; the College of Food, Agriculture, and Natural Resources Sciences; and the College of Veterinary Medicine and recognizes families from Minnesota's 87 counties who have made significant contributions to Minnesota agriculture and their communities. The 2018 Farm Family Recognition Program took place today at Farmfest.
2017 award winners from the two counties in District 25A:
Dodge County: Buckwalter Family
Olmsted County: North-Creek Dairy
"Farming plays an integral part in our economy in Minnesota and I'd like to wish a heartfelt congratulations to both the Buckwalter Family and North-Creek Dairy for their awards today," said Rep. Quam. "These two family farms are among the best examples of the hard-working farmers who feed us and the whole world. Congratulations are in order for both these families on their hard work and recognition today."
