Dear Friends,
Today and tomorrow are important days in our country as we honor our veterans for Veterans Day. The men and women who serve our country deserve our thanks every day, but this is a special time to honor their sacrifice. Thank you to all who have served or are currently in the military for protecting the freedoms we hold so dear.
Since becoming a legislator, I’ve learned more about veteran’s issues and the way the state can help. Last session, I was honored to pass a bill into law to exempt veteran retirement benefits from state income tax. This was a big win for thousands of veterans in Minnesota. As I hear from more and more vets in our area and around the state, it’s clear we need to keep supporting these men and women through this type of common sense legislation.
Again, thank you to each and every military veteran; we owe you an unpayable debt.
