Dear Neighbor,
It was another eventful week in St. Paul as legislators continued their work on important issues that are facing the state.
Central Lakes College Bridges Career Day
I was fortunate to attend the Central Lakes College Bridges Career Day last Saturday. The event brought together more than 150 local businesses and organizations, along with numerous career and technical college programs, to showcase high-demand careers for nearly 2,200 students from 23 school districts around the state.
It was impressive to see so many students learning about different educational and career paths that are available upon graduation. Technical and vocational schools are great options for students who are looking for real world, practical skills that are in high demand by employers.
I’d like to thank Central Lakes College for hosting this event and for the outstanding job they do educating and preparing students for successful careers upon graduation.
In-District Office Hours
Thank you to those who attended last Saturday’s “office hours” at the Caribou Coffee in Baxter. We had a great turnout and constructive conversation on the issues facing our state. Some of the topics discussed were education reform, food safety, and your ideas for how we can make Minnesota an even better place to live and raise a family. I am excited to inform you that I am hosting another “office hours” event this Saturday.
Here are the details for this week's event:
What: In District “Office Hours”
When: Saturday, March 14th, 2015
Time: 9:00 am
Where: Caribou Coffee
15175 Edgewood Drive North
Baxter, MN
I hope to see you there!
Staying Connected
Thank you for taking the time to read my update this week. I appreciate the opportunity to be able to communicate with constituents about the issues being debated at the capitol.
“Liking” my Facebook page and “following” my Twitter account are both great ways to stay connected with what is going on here in St. Paul.
If you are planning on being in St. Paul this session, please feel free to contact my office by phone at 651-296-4929 or via email at rep.josh.heintzeman@house.mn to set up an appointment. It would be an honor to speak with you and discuss ways we can make Minnesota better.
Sincerely,
Josh
