SAINT PAUL, MN— State Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, was officially sworn in to his second term as a state representative on Tuesday, January 3, after taking the oath of office administered by Chief Justice Lori Gildea. Nash, a businessman, will continue to represent House District 47A – encompassing the cities of Hollywood, Watertown, Camden, Waconia, Waconia Township, Laketown, Young America, Norwood Young America, Benton, Cologne, Dahlgren, Carver, Hancock, San Francisco and parts of Victoria – at the Capitol in St. Paul.
“I’m honored to continue to be a voice for the people of Carver County,” said Nash. “I’m ready to get back to work, fighting for hardworking taxpayers, middle class families, and every-day Minnesotans.”
Nash, who was re-elected to his second term this past November, will serve as vice-chair of the State Government Finance Committee. Nash will also serve on the Commerce and Regulatory Reform, Government Operations and Elections, and Rules and Legislative Administration Committees.
Nash lives in Waconia with his wife, Kim; they have six children. Nash served as mayor of Waconia prior to being elected to the state House.
