ST. PAUL – State Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, was re-elected by fellow House Republicans on Tuesday to serve as an assistant leader for the upcoming legislative session.
Nash, who served as an assistant majority leader the last two years, is one of four House members returning to the Republicans’ leadership team.
“I am honored that my legislative colleagues selected me to continue serving in a leadership role for House Republicans,” Nash said. “We have some important work to do at the Capitol, especially in making sure our state’s surplus dollars are used to provide tax relief for families and holding legislators accountable on the promises they made to reduce health care costs. I also will be continuing my efforts to hold our state IT agency accountable and to work with other legislators, fix the broken MNLARS system, and make cybersecurity for the State of Minnesota a top priority. Our leadership team has an important role to serve and I relish the challenge.”
House Republicans joining Nash as assistant leaders include Reps. Tony Albright, Prior Lake; Peggy Bennett, Albert Lea; Josh Heintzeman, Nisswa; Jon Koznick, Lakeville; and Peggy Scott, Andover.
House Republican Leader Kurt Daudt, R-Crown, was elected by his colleagues to serve as leader earlier this month. He appointed Rep. Anne Neu, R-North Branch, to serve as deputy Republican leader. Rep. Dan Fabian, R-Roseau, was elected as House Republican whip. Nash, Daudt, Fabian and Albright all are returning to leadership positions.
