ST. PAUL, MN— On Friday, State Representative Jim Nash, R-Waconia, was appointed to the Governor’s Blue Ribbon Council on Information Technology. The Governor's Blue Ribbon Council on Information Technology was established to provide advice to the Governor and Lieutenant Governor on how to modernize, improve, update and maintain the State's IT systems to ensure that Minnesota residents and businesses who interact with the State receive the best possible service. Members of the Council will also advise on the most efficient use of taxpayer dollars invested in IT projects, while keeping government data secure and protecting the State against cybersecurity threats.
“As someone who has spent eleven years working in the private sector IT world, I will bring unique and valuable experience to this Blue Ribbon Commission,” said Rep. Nash. "Improving our state's IT systems is one of the most important challenges facing Minnesota and I am glad to be a part of solving the solution."
The Council will include additional members with IT expertise and other state legislators.
Nash concluded, “I look forward to this important commission taking up its work. The task at hand impacts all Minnesotans and I am hopeful that viable solutions will be uncovered.”
