Nash Takes Oath of Office as 2025-2026 Legislative Session Begins

Saint Paul, MN -

Minnesota’s 2025 Legislative Session officially began January 14th. Rep. Jim Nash, R-Waconia, was one of the 67 Republican state representatives who took the oath of office during a ceremony at the State Capitol in St. Paul.

State Government Finance and Policy Committee Chairman and House Majority Whip, Rep. Jim Nash, plans to introduce legislation on the first day of the 2025 legislative session aimed at enhancing legislative oversight of state agency accountability.

“Rooting out waste, fraud, and abuse in government agencies has been one of my top priorities in the legislature, and it will continue to be a major focus during my tenure as chairman of the State Government Finance Committee,” said Nash. “When budget decisions are made, lawmakers must have clear and objective information about which agencies are responsible stewards of taxpayer dollars. This bill ensures more accountability and provides lawmakers with important information to guide funding decisions.”

Nash encourages area residents to contact him if they have any legislative questions, concerns, or ideas. He can be reached by phone at 651-296-4282. He can also be contacted via email at rep.jim.nash@house.mn.gov or via U.S. Mail at 2nd Floor, Centennial Office Building St. Paul, MN 55155.
