Legislative UpdateDear friends and neighbors, Following the Supreme Court’s ruling that a quorum of 68 members is required, we are currently unable to proceed with legislative sessions. As a result, we can not pass bills or address key issues affecting the people of Minnesota. The longer the House Democrats refuse to return to work, the closer we come to the risk of not passing a state budget by the June 30th deadline. At present, the legislature is effectively at a standstill, and Minnesota is facing what can only be described as a legislative shutdown. The House Republicans have consistently shown up to work in St. Paul, prepared and ready to fulfill our duties. Unfortunately, this Democrat shutdown is preventing the Minnesota House of Representatives from moving forward with essential legislative business. It’s time the Democrats show up to work. The House Republicans have shown up to work in St. Paul every day, prepared and ready to fulfill our duties. Last weekend, I was on At Issue with Tom Hauser to discuss the House Republicans fraud plan and HF3 or “Fraud Notes”. Click here to watch the segment. ![]() |
