ST. PAUL – In Tuesday’s House floor session, State Rep. Jim Nash (R-Waconia) had two proposals, HF533 and HF1159, passed as a part of the larger House Transportation Finance omnibus bill. HF533 establishes a Start Seeing Motorcycles license plate program. HF1159 establishes an exemption from length limits on vehicles and trailers for aerodynamic devices.
“Thank you to Chairman Kelly for including my proposals in the omnibus bill, and to my fellow members for passing these pieces of legislation,” said Nash. “As warm weather approaches and we begin to see more motorcyclists on our roadway, I continue to advocate for the safety of each and every motorist. HF533 and the Start Seeing Motorcycles license plate program will raise awareness to encourage mindful and safe driving to prevent unnecessary injury and death.
Having been sent to the Capitol to remove the bureaucratic red tape that impacts the lives of everyday Minnesotans in my district and in my state, I put forth HF1159 to exclude those that travel for business from state length limits, which cap the reduction of drag from wind and impact their daily drive,” continued Nash. “Thank you to my colleagues for recognizing the seriousness of these two issues and for their consideration and passage of solutions.”
