SAINT PAUL – Today, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz announced his two-year budget proposal focused on the state’s COVID-19 recovery.
Rep. Liz Olson (DFL – Duluth), the House Deputy Majority Leader, issued the following statement:
“Governor Walz’s budget proposal recognizes that COVID-19 hasn’t hit all Minnesotans equally, and to ensure everyone has the opportunity to recover, we must focus on helping the people in our state who have been impacted the hardest. Our students deserve the opportunity to achieve, workers and families deserve economic security, and our small businesses deserve the chance to recover and thrive. This budget not only aids in our state’s economic recovery right now, but it invests in our future success.”
Rep. Jen Schultz (DFL – Duluth) issued the following statement:
“The Governor’s budget proposal helps address many challenges faced by Minnesotans during the pandemic. I look forward to working with Governor Walz to protect our investments in health care, including in public health so we are prepared for any future health care crises, and maintaining high-quality services, particularly for vulnerable populations. I’m committed to helping Minnesotans move beyond this crisis and building a foundation for a strong future.”
