Dear Neighbors,
As we wrap up the most consequential two years at the Capitol in decades, there’s a great deal for us to celebrate. DFLers worked together to pass a two-year state budget with robust new investments in students, record-breaking investments in housing, and tax cuts for workers, families, and seniors. We also made groundbreaking protections for reproductive freedom, made progress to address the climate crisis, made our state more welcoming for our LGBTQIA2S+ neighbors, took action to prevent gun violence, and so much more. This year, we built on that success in numerous ways with additional funding for schools, protections for consumers, measures to strengthen democracy, and solutions to keep our communities safe.
You’re invited to join me and my colleagues in the Duluth legislative delegation – Rep. Liish Kozlowski and Sen. Jen McEwen – to recap this important work at a Virtual Town Hall Meeting on Friday, June 28 at noon. The event will be held on Zoom. Preregistration is required. Click here to RSVP and you’ll be provided the Zoom link prior to the event. You can also submit questions for us to consider at that link, too.
While there’s a lot for us to unpack as far as accomplishments go, we know there is still a great deal of unfinished work. Please bring your questions and ideas for how you’d like to see lawmakers address the challenges working families face and how to ensure everyone in our state can have the better life they deserve.
I hope you can join us! If you can’t make it, feel free to reach out any time with your feedback and ideas.
Sincerely,
Liz Olson
State Representative
