Dear Neighbors,
We are entering the final weekend of the 2022 legislative session and with just days to go until final adjournment, I continue to work hard to make sure the state’s historic budget surplus is returned back to you—the hardworking taxpayers of Minnesota.
Unfortunately, House Democrats and Gov. Walz are demanding massive spending increases in exchange for any tax relief. In fact, if Democrats get their way, it will result in a 15% increase in spending compared to the previous budget—that's more than Democrats spent when they had complete control of State Government.
Remember, state government is fully funded thanks to last year’s budget agreement. Additionally, Minnesota received nearly $80 BILLION in federal COVID relief funds over the course of the pandemic. This makes it clear that more spending is not needed.
Minnesotans are struggling with inflation, gas prices, and sky-high energy bills. Therefore, we should be providing significant tax relief that will help people deal with the disastrous Biden/Walz economy.
