Dear neighbors,
After several months of hard work, lawmakers have developed a bipartisan framework for the supplemental budget! Our framework contains $4 billion to improve the lives of Minnesotans and make significant investments in education, health care, and public safety. It also includes $4 billion to provide tax cuts and reduce costs.
While this is a step forward, there’s still plenty of work for legislators to do. We’re working around the clock to find more compromises and develop bipartisan bills.
Minnesota has dozens of boards, councils, and commissions that are responsible for promoting the arts, overseeing professional licensing, protecting the environment, and much more. Serving on one of them is a great way to use your unique experiences and expertise to help our state. You can view a list of groups that are currently accepting applications here.
It’s the last week of the legislative session, so there will be plenty of action at the Capitol over the next few days. If you’d like to stay updated, please follow my Facebook page. Feel free to share this email with family, friends, and neighbors who might be interested as well.
