Mitchell’s Law
This week, the House Transportation Committee unanimously approved HF 932, a bill I’ve sponsored to give Minnesotans the option to list emergency contacts on a driver’s license application. This idea was brought directly to me by Mitchell Radziej, a member of our community who was in an auto accident in North Dakota. We’re all thankful that Mitchell survived this crash, but he suffered a traumatic brain injury as a result of it. After the crash, it took over eight hours for first responders to find out who from his family to notify. This bill, appropriately named “Mitchell’s Law,” will help connect others in situations like this to more quickly get connected with loved ones.
