Dear Neighbors,
I hope this email finds you well as the weather transitions from summer to fall. Aside from the temperatures, the surest sign of the seasonal change is a return to school for Minnesota’s students. It’s abundantly clear to me how much Minnesotans value having quality schools for our children, and how critical an excellent education is to our young people’s success. I hope all students in our community have an excellent school year.
This year, state lawmakers passed a budget that makes new investments to every student in every public school -- because that’s what Minnesotans asked us to do. There’s more to do, though, including work to reduce disparities, increase services for students with disabilities, increase access to early learning, and expand key support services, like those from counselors, social workers, and psychologists. I remain committed to advocating for a world-class education for all Minnesota students.
